What day trips can I take from Tirana? +
From Tirana, you can visit Berat, Kruja, Durrës or Gjirokastra, hike above Bovilla Lake, explore Theth in the Albanian Alps, or take a boat trip on Koman Lake and the Shala River. The Ksamil, Saranda and Blue Eye tour is another option if you are comfortable with a long day.
How do I choose between a cultural, nature or coastal day trip? +
For castles, old towns and local history, consider Berat, Kruja or Gjirokastra. Bovilla and Theth suit travellers who enjoy mountain scenery and walking. Koman Lake and the Shala River combine a boat trip with time by the water, while Ksamil and Saranda offer a coastal day. Compare the driving time and activity level as well as the places you will visit.
Do you offer day trips from cities other than Tirana? +
Yes. We offer a Koman Lake and Shala River trip from Shkodër and an Antigonea Archaeological Park trip from Gjirokastra. Selected tours also include pickup in Durrës. Check the departure and pickup details on your chosen tour, or contact us if you are staying elsewhere.
How long do day trips in Albania last? +
Half-day trips such as Antigonea and Bovilla take around 4 to 6 hours. Many full-day tours last 8 to 13 hours, while the Ksamil, Saranda and Blue Eye trip from Tirana takes around 17 hours. Check the departure and expected return times before making plans for the same evening.
What is included in the price of a day trip? +
Many guided day trips include return transport, a local guide and the entrance tickets or activities listed in the itinerary. Meals and optional extras vary. For example, the Berat trip includes the castle entrance, while lunch and the optional Onufri Museum visit cost extra. Each tour page lists what is included and what you would pay for separately.
Is hotel pickup included? +
Many day trips include hotel pickup within the area listed on the tour page. Where a vehicle cannot reach your accommodation, a nearby accessible meeting point may be used. If you are staying outside the pickup area, contact us before booking to check the options and any extra cost.
Can I join a day trip as a solo traveller? +
Yes. You can book a place on a shared day trip and join other travellers. Choose your preferred tour and available date to book. If you’d prefer a private day trip, contact us and we’ll confirm the options and price for you.
Can I book a private day trip for my partner, family or friends? +
Yes. Tell us your preferred destination, date, number of people and any interests or requirements. Our team can recommend a private day trip and confirm the itinerary, availability and price before you book.
Are day trips suitable for children or travellers with limited mobility? +
It depends on the tour. Cultural visits can involve cobblestones, steps and uphill walking, while hiking trips may include steep or uneven trails. Minimum ages also vary. Tell us the children’s ages and any mobility requirements before booking so we can help you choose a suitable trip.
What languages are the day trips available in? +
Most of our day trips are guided in English. Other languages, including Spanish, French, German and Italian, may be available for private bookings, depending on the tour, guide and date. Tell us your preferred language before booking so we can confirm availability.
Do day trips run all year? +
Some do, while others are seasonal. The Berat day trip runs year-round. Theth and the Ksamil, Saranda and Blue Eye trip currently run from April to October, while boat trips depend on the season and conditions. Check the available dates on the individual tour page.
What should I bring on a day trip? +
Bring comfortable shoes, water, sun protection and a layer for cooler conditions. Hiking trips need shoes with good grip. For trips with swimming stops, bring a swimsuit, towel and change of clothes. Check your tour’s information for any additional requirements and whether meals are included.
What happens if the weather is bad? +
If bad weather or another disruption prevents your day trip from running, we’ll notify you in advance and offer a full refund or rescheduling.
How do I book a day trip, and when will I be charged? +
Book through the individual tour page, or contact us if you would like help choosing. You are charged once your booking is confirmed. Your ticket includes the meeting location, contact numbers and the information you need for your trip.
Can I book a day trip at short notice? +
Contact us on WhatsApp to check last-minute availability. Spaces, guides and transport need to be confirmed, so a same-day or next-day booking is not guaranteed.
Can I cancel my day trip or change the date? +
Day trips offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, subject to the bank or card charges and separately stated non-refundable costs in our booking policy. Date changes requested at least 24 hours before departure are free, subject to availability. Cancellation requests within 24 hours are reviewed individually, and refunds are not guaranteed. No-shows are not refundable.
