“I found the company on Internet. I always organise personalised trips for us using a driver/guide. In discussions with the local agent, Fiona, and following her suggestions, I then finalised the schedule to suit us. We were most interested in the history & culture of Albania so the tour was based around this.”

Good to know

Tailor-made Albania tours, your questions answered

Straight answers on cost, timing, self-drive vs driver-guided, and combining countries.

What does InAlb arrange for a tailor-made trip?

Your planner designs the route and books the stays, transport, guides and experiences you agreed on. It is a complete trip whether you self-drive or travel with a driver-guide. The final itinerary lists everything that is included, meals and activities too, and anything that is not.

How much does a tailor-made Albania tour cost?

Most tailor-made trips fall between €55 and €450 per person per day, flights excluded. The low end means simple stays and independent travel; a private driver-guide throughout sits higher. Your dates, group size, rooms, route, hotels and guiding set the final figure. Planning is free and you see the full price before you pay.

Can I start without knowing my itinerary?

Yes. Tell us your travel window, who is coming, a rough budget and the kind of trip you enjoy, either through the planner on this page or by email to info@inalb.al. Your planner suggests a route and helps you settle the pace and travel style.

How does planning work, and how long does it take?

Your local expert replies within 24 hours to start the conversation. Then we build and refine the proposal together. A complete plan usually takes between four days and a month, depending on how complex the trip is and how quickly decisions are made.

What is the difference between self-drive and driver-guided travel?

Self-drive is a complete package: a planned route, the stays and a fully insured car, with local guides and activities included where the itinerary says so. Partly driver-guided means a driver-guide joins you for the sections you agree on, and the proposal explains how you travel the rest. Fully driver-guided means a private driver-guide is with you for the whole route.

Can my trip include other Balkan countries?

Yes. We combine Albania with Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Croatia and Greece. Your planner works out the route, driving times, border crossings and transport so it all fits. The right combination depends on your dates, trip length and pace.

When should I start planning?

As soon as you know your likely travel window. Starting early gives more time to shape the route and secure availability, especially for summer stays on the coast or a trip across several countries. For last-minute requests we check what is practical and available first, then confirm.

Do you plan tailor-made Balkan tours for travellers from the US, UK or Australia?

Yes. Most of our tailor-made guests fly in from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland and Germany. Tirana has direct flights from most European hubs; from the US and Australia you connect once, usually via Istanbul, Vienna, Rome or London. We plan the route around your arrival and departure times, keep the first and last day light, and combine Albania with Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece or Croatia if the trip length allows. Planning happens by email or a call in your time zone, in English, Italian, Spanish, German or French.

Is this a private trip, or will I join a group?

A tailor-made trip is private and planned for your own party only. If you prefer set dates with other travellers, see our group tours. Travel Matching is optional and only happens with your approval; a match is never guaranteed.

Looking for set dates and a shared departure? See our group tours.
