Tirana: Farm-to-Table Lunch & Cave Arms Museum at an Ex-Military Base
Just 15 minutes from Tirana: a guided tour of a converted communist-era military base, with an arms museum in an underground cave, a cheese tasting with Tini, and a farm-to-table lunch. €38 per person, all inclusive.
Tour Overview
Albania built thousands of military sites during the communist years, and most are now empty. This one has been turned into a working farm, so you can actually walk around it. The tour takes in the grounds and the lakes, and the old arms store inside a cave, now a small museum of weapons from that era.
What do you eat? A cheese tasting with Tini, a cheese maker known around the country, followed by a farm-to-table lunch made from what the farm grows and raises. It is proper home cooking, not a tourist menu.
Who is it for? Anyone curious about Albania’s recent history, and families who want something hands-on close to the city. Round-trip pickup from Tirana is included, and the site is otherwise closed to the public, so this is the way in. It runs year-round.

An organic farm-to-table Albanian lunch — regional dishes, seasonal vegetables, homemade specialties and unique desserts. Water and a homemade rose juice are included; alcoholic drinks are available at the venue at extra cost.
