I think the itinerary is designed for anyone who enjoys a mix of history, local culture and light adventure. Personally, the highlights for me were the UNESCO towns of Kruja , Berat and Gjirokastra. The culinary part of the trip exceeded our expectations. Even the picnic prepared for our canyon walk was delicious and thoughtful. The guides were very attentive and gave excellent recommendations for meals not included. The drives were sometimes long but the driver was safe and friendly and the van was clean and comfortable.

See the best of Albania in one well-paced week. This 8-day guided group tour loops from Tirana through the country’s greatest hits: Kruja and Skanderbeg’s castle, Rozafa above Shkodra, the huge Roman amphitheatre of Durres, the UNESCO towns of Berat, Gjirokastra and Butrint, ancient Apollonia and Ardenica Monastery, the Blue Eye spring and the Ionian coast at Ksamil. You travel with an English-speaking guide, stay in 4-star hotels and sit down to a famous farm-to-table lunch at Mrizi i Zanave. Operated by our local partner, booked and supported by InAlb. From €900 per person.
Best of Albania is an 8-day guided group tour from Tirana for first-time visitors who want to see the country’s headline sights without renting a car or piecing the logistics together. In one loop you take in ancient cities, three UNESCO towns, Ottoman castles, Roman ruins, a famous spring and a stretch of the Ionian coast, with a guide who connects Illyrian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Albania along the way.
The route runs north first, then south. From Tirana you visit Kruja, the stronghold of the national hero Skanderbeg, then Lezha and Shkodra with Rozafa Castle and lunch at Mrizi i Zanave, the farm restaurant that put Albanian slow food on the map. You then head down the coast to the Roman amphitheatre of Durres and into UNESCO Berat, on to Ardenica Monastery, ancient Apollonia and Vlora, along the Riviera to Ksamil and UNESCO Butrint, and back north via the Blue Eye and UNESCO Gjirokastra to Tirana.
This is a standard group tour with departures almost every week from January to November, so it is easy to fit around flights. Groups can be up to 35 people. The tour is operated by our local partner, and InAlb handles your booking, your airport transfers and 24/7 support during the trip, as on every trip we sell. Hotels are 4-star throughout, on double occupancy, with a single room available as an add-on.
It suits history and culture lovers, first-time visitors and solo travellers who want the highlights comfortably in one week. It is not the trip for serious hiking or a pure beach holiday: the pace is relaxed, with short walks and some steps at castles, sites and old towns, and one swim stop on the coast.

4.86 reviewsMost hotels were cozy and well located but one in Vlora felt old and noisy. On the positive side, the food everywhere was delicious and very fresh.
Nice but improvment is needed
Albania was really beautifull but someplaces have a lot of traffic during August and I wish I know that in Advance. We were stuck in Milot on our way to Theth for 3 hours. When we arrived in Vlora our accomodation was not the same as in the picture and we had to stay there for the night until the next day we were accomodated to a better one. I undesrtand that there might be issues during a trip but that is exactly why we went with an agency o we do not have to worry about anything. On the good side they would always reply on whatsapp within 5 min. Good but it could be better
Great local guides and activities
We really enjoyed all the activities that we did every day! Albanians ver welcoming.
Very nice trip thanks to a very professional guide, I will keep a beautiful memory of Albania !
