Tirana Street Food Tour — 6 Dishes Through the City Centre
A guided walk through central Tirana tasting six classic Albanian street foods, from byrek to grilled bites, with the stories behind each one.

Tour Overview
The best way to understand a city is to eat your way across it. This walk takes you through the centre of Tirana with stops for six different Albanian street foods. You try byrek, the flaky savoury pastry, plus other local bites you would walk past without a guide.
What do you eat and see? Six tastings in small, local places rather than tourist restaurants, with time to talk to the people who make the food. Between stops you pass the main squares and landmarks of central Tirana, so it works as a light city walk as well as a food tour.
Who is it for? Anyone who likes food and walking, including families and first-timers. Come hungry, wear comfortable shoes, and tell us in advance about any dietary needs. It is one of the most fun things to do in Tirana on a first day, when you want food and the lay of the city at once.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much food is in this?
Six savoury stops, one sweet and one drink. Each stop is a street-snack portion rather than a full plate, but together it adds up to a generous lunch — most guests do not need a sit-down meal afterwards.
What are the dishes?
The fixed core is byrek with dhallë, peskavica and pispili. The other three rotate by what is freshest on the day — typically qofte (small grilled meatballs), sufllaqe (Albanian wrap) and a savoury surprise the guide picks.
How much walking is there?
About 3 km of flat city walking over 3 hours, with a stop every 10–15 minutes. The whole route is central Tirana, so nothing is far.
Where does it start and end?
It starts near Skanderbeg Square and ends at the Pyramid of Tirana — both central and within a 15-minute walk of most city-centre hotels.
Is there a vegetarian version?
Yes, on 24 hours’ notice — byrek with greens or cheese, pispili, vegetarian sufllaqe and a vegetable course replace the meat stops. Vegan is doable but tighter, so ask at booking.
Can you handle allergies?
Yes — flag allergies at booking with at least 24 hours’ notice and the guide routes around problem stops with safe substitutes.
Is it family-friendly?
Yes — there is no minimum age. It suits children who can walk 3 km in an afternoon and like trying new food; portion sizes are adjusted on request.
What if it rains?
The tour runs in light rain — most stops have covered or indoor seating and central Tirana has plenty of arcades. We only cancel for genuinely unsafe weather, with a full refund or rebooking.
