Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any previous kayaking experience?
No experience needed. The water at the Blue Eye spring is calm and the pace is relaxed. Ledjon runs a safety briefing and explains paddling basics before you start — most guests have never kayaked before.
What is the minimum age?
Minimum age 6. The tour is not suitable for children under 6. Children aged 6–12 pay €25 and must share a double kayak with an accompanying adult.
Is this kayak tour on the sea or at the freshwater spring?
At the freshwater Blue Eye spring — Syri i Kaltër — not the sea. You paddle on the calm turquoise water of the spring itself, surrounded by forest. No coastal kayaking is involved.
Where do you pick up from?
The meeting point is on Rruga Onhezmi in central Saranda. Pickup is only available at the meeting point — there are no hotel pickups from Saranda or Ksamil for this experience.
Can I swim at the Blue Eye spring?
Yes. After paddling you have free time to swim, snorkel and relax. The water is fresh, crystal-clear and cold year-round — typical of a deep mountain spring. Most guests at least dip in.
How long does the tour last?
About four hours door-to-door, from the 09:00 meeting to a ~13:00 drop-off (or 16:00–20:00 for the afternoon slot). Around 1.5 hours is on the water; the rest is transfer, briefing and free time.
