This is an 11-day fully guided private luxury tour of Albania with your own driver-guide and private vehicle throughout. It runs from Tirana through UNESCO Berat and Gjirokaster to the Blue Eye, Butrint, Ksamil, Saranda and the Riviera, and back to Tirana. Hotels are 5-star in Tirana, Berat, Dhermi and Vlora and 4-star boutique in in Gjirokaster and Ksamil . Five meals are included: a rooftop welcome dinner, three gastronomic experiences and the Albanian Night farewell dinner. From €3,800 per person, two sharing. A solo traveller pays €5,700 with a private room on every night included.

This is the refined version of an Albania grand tour. You arrive in Tirana, meet your driver-guide and take the first evening slowly, with a welcome dinner on a rooftop above the city. Then you move south through Durres, a private vineyard on Lalzi Bay and Kruja’s castle and bazaar. Berat and Gjirokaster bring the UNESCO old towns, with a farm-to-table meal at a local agrotourism farm, a local cheese tasting in Lazarat and an organic farm dinner above Gjirokaster.
The second half is the coast. The Blue Eye spring, ancient Butrint and sunset over Ksamil’s islands, then a slow beach day. A boat carries you to the hidden cove at Krorez, and you watch the sun set from Lekursi Castle above Saranda. The Riviera villages and three coastal castles lead over the Llogara Pass to Vlora and ancient Apollonia, before the Albanian Night farewell dinner back in Tirana.
One driver-guide is with you throughout, so the history, the food and the timing are handled. You never drive and never navigate. The pace stays unhurried, and every element can be shaped to what you want.

Your private driver-guide meets you at Tirana airport and takes you to your 5-star hotel in the centre. The first day is deliberately slow. Settle in, and if your flight allows, take a first walk with your guide around Skanderbeg Square and the colourful streets of Blloku. In the evening you sit down to an Albanian welcome dinner on a rooftop, with the lights of Tirana below you and Mount Dajti behind.

Start in Durres with the Roman amphitheatre and the seafront. At a private vineyard on Lalzi Bay you taste the estate wines, take a boat and a kayak on the lake and sit down to a three-course lunch among the vines. In the afternoon you reach Kruja: the hilltop castle, the Skanderbeg museum and the old bazaar, the best place in Albania for crafts. Back to Tirana for the night.

Drive south through Elbasan to UNESCO-listed Berat. Walk the white Ottoman quarters of Mangalem and Gorica, climb to the castle where families still live inside the walls, and see the Onufri icons in the museum. In the late afternoon, head to a local agrotourism farm in the countryside near Berat for an authentic farm-to-table meal prepared with fresh local products, surrounded by peaceful rural landscapes and vineyards. Inside the old town, with the castle and the river a few minutes on foot.
Stop at the Uji i Ftohtë springs and Ali Pasha’s Castle in Tepelena. Continue with a special local cheese tasting accompanied by traditional Albanian polyphonic music, offering an authentic taste of the region’s culinary and cultural heritage.
Arrive in Gjirokastër, the UNESCO-listed Stone City, for an evening walk through the historic bazaar, followed by an organic farm-to-table dinner at an agrotourism farm just outside the city.

Visit the breathtaking Blue Eye, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by lush nature. Continue to Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Greek, Roman and Byzantine history comes to life among impressive ancient ruins.
Finish the day in Ksamil, one of Albania’s most beautiful coastal destinations, known for its turquoise waters, picturesque beaches and small islands.

A whole day with nothing planned. Swim in the clearest water in Albania, paddle out to the islands, or do nothing at all on a sunbed with the islands in front of you. Your guide can suggest a beach club or a seafood lunch, or leave you completely alone.

Board a boat in Saranda and head north along the coast to beautiful beaches and secluded bays that cannot be reached by road, including Krorëza Beach. Enjoy time for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing in the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
In the evening, drive up to Lëkurësi Castle above Saranda for beautiful sunset views over the bay and Corfu. If you wish, enjoy an optional dinner at Lëkurësi Castle.

Follow the Riviera road north through Lukove, Borsh and Qeparo, with stops at the castles of Borsh, Porto Palermo and Himara, each one above a different bay. Arrive in Dhermi in time for a swim.

Climb through the pine forests of Llogara National Park to the viewpoint over the whole Riviera. Descend to Vlora, where Albania declared independence in 1912. Visit the Independence Museum and the old centre, then stroll the Lungomare seafront in the evening with an aperitif by the water.

Walk the ancient ruins of Apollonia and the quiet monastery of Saint Mary inside the site. Continue to Karavasta Lagoon, the largest in Albania and home to the rare Dalmatian pelican. Return to Tirana for the Albanian Night: a farewell dinner with live folk music and dancing in traditional dress.

Free time for last souvenirs or a coffee in Blloku, then your private transfer to Tirana airport, timed to your flight.

Not for you if travellers on a tight budget, since the 11-day Albania group tour covers a similar route at a lower price, or anyone who wants a packed, fast-moving schedule. This tour leaves room to slow down.
Berat, Gjirokaster and the castles involve cobbles, steps and uneven paths, so the trip is not step-free. Contact us to discuss specific needs.
Entry fees. Entrance tickets to every site in the itinerary are included. Meals not listed as included and any activities you add during the trip are paid locally.

Comfortable walking shoes for castle and old-town cobbles, swimwear and a towel for Ksamil, the boat day and the Riviera, smart-casual outfits for the rooftop dinner, the farm tables and the Albanian Night, a light layer for cooler evenings and the air-conditioned vehicle, sun protection: hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, some cash in lek for bazaars and small village purchases.
Travel insurance is not required, but we recommend a policy that covers cancellation and medical care.
Albania uses the lek. Cards are accepted in hotels and most restaurants, and ATMs are in every town. Carry some cash for small purchases in bazaars and villages. Tips for your driver-guide are at your discretion.
Warm, dry summers and mild spring and autumn. April to June and September to October give warm sea, golden light and quieter sites. July and August are hottest and best for beach time.
Mobile and wifi coverage is good in towns and along the coast. EU roaming does not include Albania, so check your plan or buy a local SIM on arrival.

One driver-guide is with you for the whole journey. The same person drives, guides and handles the timing and the food stops, with specialist local guides at the major heritage sites. You never drive and never navigate.
Ten nights in hand-picked hotels. Tirana, Berat, Dhermi and Vlora are 5-star. Gjirokaster and Ksamil are 4-star boutique hotels, because the best places to stay in those old towns are small and characterful rather than big-brand 5-star. Properties are confirmed on booking and can be upgraded on request.
Breakfast every day from day 2, plus five meals chosen for the food: the rooftop welcome dinner in Tirana, the three-course vineyard lunch with wine tasting on Lalzi Bay, the farm-to-table meal at Alpeta near Berat, an organic farm dinner above Gjirokaster and the Albanian Night farewell dinner. Other meals are left free, and your guide knows where to eat in every town.

Yes. A solo traveller pays €5,700 in the standard season, with a private room on all ten nights included. Within a group, anyone who wants their own room pays the two-sharing fare plus a €1,300 single-room supplement.

Between 2 and 3 hours on most touring days, split into short scenic segments with stops, in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Four days have almost no driving at all: arrival day in Tirana, the free day in Ksamil, the Saranda boat day and departure day.
This is a relaxed private tour, not a checklist schedule. Touring days mix two or three stops with a long lunch and free time, and because the guide is only with your party, the rhythm follows you: start later, stay longer at a place you love, or skip a stop. Day 6 in Ksamil is fully free and evenings are always your own.
Yes, airport transfers on arrival and departure are included. Any flight time works. A late landing simply moves the first evening's plans to the next day, and on departure day the transfer is timed to your flight.
Yes. The pace is relaxed and the vehicle is private, so the trip adapts easily to families. Tell us the ages when you book and we adjust the meals and the activities. Infants up to 2 years travel free.
A 30% deposit secures your booking and the balance is due 30 days before departure. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance is refunded in full 30 days or more before departure, 70% between 15 and 29 days, 50% between 1 and 14 days, and nothing on the departure day or for a no-show. For a valid reason you can reschedule free of charge at least one month before departure, subject to availability. Terms are flexible, so contact us if you need something different.
Your driver-guide is with you every day, and the InAlb office is on WhatsApp 24/7 from the moment you book until you fly home.

A 30% deposit secures your booking. The remaining balance is due 1 month (30 days) before departure. The 30% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel, the remaining balance paid is refunded in full 30 days or more before departure, 70% is refunded 15–29 days before departure, 50% is refunded 1–14 days before departure, and no refund is given on the departure day or for a no-show. Rundreise durch Südalbanien, allein mit Reiseführer. Ab Tirana, dann über Ardenica (wunderschön!) und Appolonia nach Vlora. Dann über Llogarápass nach Saranda (tolles Baden im Meer) und Butrint. Gjirokaster und dann für mich der Höhepunkt: Berat, dann nach Kruja (sehr schönes Museum) und Tirana.
Die Planung konnten wir gemeinsam mir Bora individuell gestalten. Die Auswahl der Unterkünfte war gut und der gemeinsam erarbeitete Reiseplan durchs Hinterland vom Norden in den Süden kann ich so wirklich empfehlen. Auch die letzten Tage zum Entspannen in Piqeras am Meer waren sehr schön, da im Süden die Strände nicht so überlaufen sind. Besonders hat uns gefallen, dass die herrlichen Landschaften beides bieten, was wir an einem Urlaub mögen, Berge zum Wandern und gleichzeitig die Möglichkeit zum Baden in den vielen Flüssen. Diese Verbindung ist im Sommer einfach genial.

Wir waren drei Wochen in Albanien. In der ersten Woche zum Wandern in den albanischen Alpen, in Valbona und in Theth. Die Gegend ist vor allem für trainierte Wanderer geeignet, wir sind da durchaus an unsere körperlichen Grenzen gestoßen. Auf der anderen Seite war es eine hinreißende Landschaft. In der zweiten Woche sind wir durch das Land gefahren mit Übernachtungen in Kruja, Berat, Tushemisht, Rehova, Permet, Gjirokaster und Saranda. Besucht haben wir auf diesen Wegen auch Shkodra, Elbasan, Lin, das Kloster Svetli Naum in Nordmazedonien, die warmen Quellen von Benja. In der dritten Woche waren wir im Hotel *** in Borsht an der albanischen Riviera, eine sehr guten Hotel. Während der zweiten und dritten Woche hatten wir einen Mietwagen, in der ersten Woche hat die Agentur dafür gesorgt, dass wir entsprechend transportiert wurden. Alle hat absolut zuverlässig geklappt. Die Betreuung im Vorfeld und während des Urlaubs war hervorragend. Wir sind absolut zufrieden und können die Agentur nur auf das Wärmste weiterempfehlen.

Il viaggio in Albania è stato assolutamente piacevole, grazie a un'organizzazione impeccabile che ha reso ogni momento piacevole e senza stress. Fin dall'inizio, i trasferimenti da e per l'aeroporto e da Tirana a Saranda sono stati eccellenti, puntuali e confortevoli. Questo ha permesso di iniziare la vacanza nel migliore dei modi, senza doverci preoccupare di nulla. L'appartamento a Saranda era situato in una posizione strategica, permettendoci di godere appieno delle bellezze della città e delle sue attrazioni. La sistemazione era accogliente e dotata di tutti i comfort necessari per una permanenza rilassante. Il tour in jeep è stato senza dubbio uno dei momenti più emozionanti e divertenti del viaggio. Esplorare i paesaggi albanesi in questo modo ci ha regalato un'esperienza unica, permettendoci di scoprire angoli nascosti e suggestivi del paese che altrimenti non avremmo mai conosciuto. Die Reise durch Albanien war sehr schön. Wir sind froh, dass wir uns entschieden haben eine Tour mit einem Guide zu führen. Alleine hätten wir nie soviel in 6 Tagen gesehen. Es waren sehr viele schöne Orte, welche wir in ein paar Jahren sicherlich wieder einmal besuchen werden. Wir werden Bora und Ylli auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen.

Everything was great but I think that in most places the hotel standards are pretty basic for 5 star hotels , the only hotels that I really liked are in Dhermi, Palase and Saranda the rest were just ok. Food was exxeptional!

Elvira von der lokalen Agentur in Albanien hat unsere Mietwagen-Reise nach unseren Wünschen sehr gut vorbereitet. Im Vorfeld der Reise konnten wir unkompliziert mit ihr kommunizieren. Sie hat immer zeitnah geantwortet. Während unserer Reise wurde uns ein Handy mit einer Landes-SIM-Card zur Vefügung gestellt, so dass wir jederzeit Kontakt zu ihr aufnehmen konnten. Außerdem hat sie uns einen kleines Roadbook zur Verfügung gestellt. Alle Hotels waren sehr gut ausgewählt. Auch der Transfer vom Flughafen und die Übergabe des Mietwagens haben gut funktioniert.
Die 16 Tage Rundreise mit dem Mietauto hat uns komplett gefallen, Extrawünsche wie Ausritt und Weinprobe wurden perfekt integriert ..und alles hat geklappt.Wir hatten in Tirana eine Stadtführung,was uns am Ende der Reise zugute kam,da wir am letzten Tag genau wussten wo wir zb. Bunkerart2,Rooftop Bar,Seilbahn...finden konnten.Zwei weitere Stadtführungen in Berat und Gjirokastra (englisch), UNESCO Städte, hat uns ebenfalls sehr gut gefallen und fanden die Führungen,genau in diesen Städten perfekt gewählt.Hier sei noch zu erwähnen,das genau in diesen Städten die Hotels unsere Favoriten waren(Hotel ********,Hotel ******),Wir haben vor Antritt der Reise eine genaue Routenplanung in der Reiseagentur App(Fotos von Hotels...)bekommen,sowie Voucher,die wir uns für die Reise ausgedruckt haben,mit Hinweisen,zb Hotelanfahrt,, Uhrzeiten,Sehenswürdigkeiten auf dem Weg, Tourenlänge, Abenteuerstrecke....Und haben Dank Navi stets alles ohne Probleme gefunden.Wir haben Familienhotels gehabt und waren durchweg zufrieden..Die Betten und Sauberkeit waren in allen Familienhotels perfekt ,die Mitarbeiter durchweg freundlich.Das Frühstück hier und da unterschiedlich und lecker.Bitte keinen Aufschnitt und Käse erwarten,und in die einheimische Küche eintauchen.Wir haben es genossen und waren nur von unserem 4 Sterne Hotel am Ohridsee enttäuscht,zu gross und etwas heruntergekommen.Dennoch für 2 Tage okay.Es sind uns nur freundliche, hilfsbereite Menschen in Albanien begegnet .Leider ist hier hinsichtlich Umweltbewusstsein und Tierschutz noch einiges zu tun und war manches Mal schwer zu ertragen.Wir hatten genau in der Mitte unserer Reise 2 Tage Badeurlaub in Himare,mit Meerblick,Strand direkt vor der Tür.Genau richtig,um Mal kurz zu pausieren.Wir fanden die gesamte Rundreise ca.1350 km sehr erholsam,super geplant und würden es jedem empfehlen,wer sich Albanien einmal komplett anschauen möchte.Diese Tour gibt einen schönen,erholsamen Einblick. Wir haben uns jederzeit sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt und konnten Martin,unseren Reiseplaner sogar persönlich in Berat kennenlernen.Ebenso konnten wir jederzeit mit Ihm Kontakt halten,so daß wir bei Fragen ,wie zb bei der Mietwagenrückgabe stets Antworten erhalten haben.Alles in allem tolle Agentur und Albanien eine Reise wert.

Viaje bien planificado por la Agencia Local, adaptándose a nuestras peticiones, sin poner problemas. A lo largo del viaje el Guía-Conductor se adaptó igualmente a lo que nosotros pedíamos, sin poner en ningún momento ningún problema a los cambios decididos por nosotros. Excelente amabilidad y responsabilidad. En definitiva un viaje totalmente recomendable, y del que toda mi familia ha disfrutado de forma plena.
después de visitarla haría algunos cambios. fuimos 14 días y recorrimos todo el pais. 1 Sarande excesivamente turística, playas masificadas. 2. aumentaría el tiempo en el norte ,Valbone y Therh, si te gusta la naturalesza y el senderimo.. 3. la carretera hasta korce desde sarande muy cansina y larga ,tardamos 6 horas, si lo quieres hacer yo haría noche en alguna granja intermedia. A la llegada a korce fuimos a voskopoje ya ibamos muy cansados de las 6 horas de carretera. Vale la pena pero lo haría a la mañana siguiente descansados. Esta ruta se convirtió en 9 horas. 4. No comer mucho de menus cerrados son mas caros y son demasiados platos

Nos pusimos en contacto con Mira y le indicamos los lugares que queríamos visitar. Ella organizo el mejor recorrido para satisfacer nuestros deseos. Tanto la guía *** como el chofer *** han sido fantásticos. Hemos vuelto con un gran conocimiento de Albania. Recomendaremos el viaje a nuestros amigos
Wir hatten eine tolle und abwechslungsreiche Zeit in Albanien. Die albanischen Alpen und Lake Drin waren fantastisch. Berat und der Abstecher in den Kosovo waren beeindruckend und die Küstenregion einfach herrlich. Somit konnten wir wandern und Strand in einem Urlaub genießen. Die Albaner waren sehr freundlich und das Essen war sehr lecker und frisch. Ylli stand uns jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, wie ein Freund, den wir jederzeit fragen konnten und der uns hilfreiche Tipps gab und alle Fragen sofort beantwortete, die wir hatten. Ein grandioser Urlaub und sehr zu empfehlen.
Guten Morgen Martin, nochmals vielen Dank für die tolle Reise in Albanien vom 26. April bis zum 9. Juni, organisiert von Martin von dieser lokalen agentur. Es hat alles reibungslos geklappt, von der Abholung am Flughafen, der Übergabe des Autos, den Hotels und den gebuchten Essen. Die Abendessen in Tirana und in Korca waren etwas Besonderes, vielen Dank (auch wenn das Lokal in Korca von unserem Besuch etwas überrascht war). Besonders erwähnen möchte ich die sehr individuellen und interessanten Führungen in Berat, Tirana, Gjirokaster und Korca – die Führer waren sehr kompetent und sind individuell auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Die Wir konnten einen guten Eindruck von Albanien, Land und Leuten gewinnen. Der Bereich, der uns am wenigsten angesprochen hat, war die Küstenregion um Vlora und Himara – eine einzige Baustelle mit sehr viel Behinderungen, Bauschutt und dem Verlust schöner Orte und Küstenregionen auf Kosten von großen Hotelkomplexen und seelenlosen Lidos. Man hat den Eindruck, dass Albanien dort seinen spezifischen Reiz und Charakter auf Kosten des Massentourismus verliert. Besten Dank,
Todo genial, exceptuando un hotel. El guia excelente y el conductor muy prudente, porque en Albania conducen fatal, no respetan la normas. Gracias
Francamente, no sabia que me iba a encontrar al viajar por Albania. Me he llevado una grata sorpresa al viajar por gran parte del país. Como país tiene un montón de cultura e historia, unos paisajes increíbles (desde montañas hasta playas mediterráneas parecidas a las de España), una gente majísima muy abierta al turista y una comida espectacular. Solo puedo recomendar el viajar a Albania, sobretodo ahora que aún no sufre los efectos del turismo en masa que conocemos en el resto de países europeos. En cuanto a la organización del viaje por parte de la agencia '***', se implicaron desde el primer momento ofreciéndome todo tipo de itinerarios y alternativas para viajar dentro de Albania. Yo me decidí a viajar solo por mi cuenta con un coche de alquiler y aunque las carreteras en Albania no son tan buenas como en el resto de Europa, en ningún momento he tenido ningún problema ni con el coche ni con el resto de conductores. Tampoco tuve ningún problema con las reservas de los hoteles, en todos me recibieron con los brazos abiertos y el servicio estuvo muy atento durante mi estancia para que todo estuviera a mi gusto. En general, solo puedo hablar maravillas de este viaje y de la organización por parte de la agencia local. Todo hay que decirlo, en algunos aspectos Albania aún está bastante atrasado, pero aún así es un país al que se le puede sacar mucho provecho como turista y que se puede disfrutar mucho.
Die Reiseplanung und der Ablauf, sowie die Wahl der Hotels unserer Albanien Reise waren sehr gut. Albanien ist ein wunderschönes Land und die Leute sehr gastfreundlich. Insbesondere unser Guide, sowohl auch Fahrer hat die Reise für uns unvergesslich gemacht. Wir haben mit ihm ein guten Freund dazu gewonnen und wir haben uns die ganze Zeit wohl und sicher bei Ihm gefühlt. Vielen lieben Dank dafür an Ermal! La agencia siempre ha estado a mi disposición. Tea ha sido muy eficaz. Todos los hoteles han sido satisfactorios y, sobre todo, Arber, el conductor-guía, nos ha hecho el viaje muy agradable, con el punto justo de conversación, explicaciones y tiempo libre a nuestro aire.
