Set off on a long but rewarding day trip from Tirana or Durres to the highlights of the Albanian Riviera, combining beaches, seaside towns, and one of Albania’s most famous natural sights. Your day begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel or a central meeting point, with exact details shared in advance by your guide. You’ll travel south in a comfortable vehicle, watching the landscape gradually change from inland hills and rivers to dramatic Ionian coastline views.
Around midday, you’ll arrive in Ksamil, known for its bright turquoise waters and small islands just offshore. After a short walk to stretch your legs, you’ll have free time to swim, relax on the beach, or enjoy lunch at one of the seaside restaurants. Optional boat rides to the nearby islands are available or you can simply enjoy the water and sunshine at your own pace.
The journey continues along the coast toward Saranda, where you’ll have free time to walk along the promenade, grab a coffee, take photos or browse small shops while enjoying views of the sea and surrounding hills. It’s a relaxed stop that gives you a feel for daily life in one of southern Albania’s main seaside towns.
Your final visit is to the famous Blue Eye (Syri i Kalter), reached by a short walk through nature. Here you’ll see crystal-clear water bubbling up from deep underground in striking shades of blue and green. You’ll have time to explore and take photos. Swimming depends on local regulations and is sometimes not allowed and even when it is, the water is cold enough to make you seriously reconsider once your feet touch it.
As evening approaches, you’ll begin the return journey to Tirana, arriving late in the evening after a full day filled with coastline, seaside towns and natural beauty.
