Discover a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the serene beauty of Belsh Lake

09:00 AM – Departure from Tirana

Meet your guide at your accommodation and begin your journey toward the historic city of Berat, one of Albania’s most iconic and visited destinations.  

 

10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Stop at Belsh Lake

Your first stop is the peaceful and picturesque Belsh Lake, located near the small town of Belsh. Enjoy a relaxing break surrounded by nature, take some photos and stretch your legs before continuing toward Berat.  

 

11:30 PM – 1:30 PM – Visit to Berat Castle & Optional Onufri Museum

Upon arrival in Berat, start your visit with a guided exploration of Berat Castle, a centuries-old fortress where people still live within its walls. Admire sweeping views of the city and visit several well-preserved Byzantine churches.

📌 Optional: Visit the Onufri Museum, home to a stunning collection of sacred art with vibrant red and gold iconography.

 

1:45 PM – 2:00 PM – Walk across the Gorica Bridge

After the castle, enjoy a short walk through the historic neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica, separated by the Osumi River and connected by the famous Gorica Bridge. A perfect opportunity for photos and to experience the timeless charm of Berat.  

 

2:00 PM – 3:45 PM – Free Time & Lunch in Berat

Enjoy 1 hour and 45 minutes of free time to explore the modern part of Berat at your own pace. Take photos, shop for souvenirs, or have a delicious traditional Albanian lunch at a local restaurant.  

 

4:00 PM – Departure for Tirana

After a fulfilling day of exploration, culture and scenic beauty, begin the drive back to Tirana.  

 

6:00 PM – Arrival in Tirana

Expected arrival in Tirana around 6:00 PM. End of the tour with wonderful memories of Berat and Belsh.

Can we swim in Belsh Lake?

No, there is no organized swimming area at Belsh Lake. The stop is meant for walking, relaxing, and taking photos, not for water activities.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, this tour is not suitable for wheelchair users, as the transportation vehicle is not equipped for wheelchair access.

What type of vehicle is used?

Travel is by modern, air-conditioned van designed for comfort on long drives.

Is the walking difficult at Berat Castle?

The castle involves moderate walking on uneven cobblestones and slight inclines. It’s manageable for most visitors, but comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
