Your experience begins with preparing Lakror, a famous Albanian savory pie made with thin layers of dough and delicious fillings. Guided step by step, you will learn the traditional techniques used by Albanian families for generations, giving you the chance to create this local specialty with your own hands.

Next, you will cook Tavë Kosi, often considered the flag of Albanian cuisine. This iconic dish combines tender meat with creamy yogurt and eggs, baked together to create one of the most famous flavors in Albanian gastronomy. Preparing it from scratch will give you a deeper appreciation of the country’s rich culinary traditions.

While the main dishes are cooking, you will also discover a variety of traditional starters and appetizers, made with fresh seasonal ingredients that reflect the simplicity and authenticity of Albanian home cooking. The experience continues with the preparation of a traditional Albanian dessert, where you will learn about local sweets and the unique techniques used to prepare them.

No Albanian meal would be complete without tasting homemade Raki, the country’s traditional spirit and a symbol of Albanian hospitality. During the experience you will learn about its cultural importance while tasting locally produced Raki. You will also prepare and taste Raki e Pjekur, a warm winter version of the drink traditionally enjoyed during colder months.

To accompany the meal, you will taste homemade wines produced from local grapes, offering a true taste of Albania’s winemaking heritage. The culinary journey continues with a tasting of several homemade jams made from local fruits, adding a sweet touch to the experience.

I appreciated how hands-on everything was and the chefs made it easy to follow each step. It was fun shaping the byrek and seeing how traditional dishes come together. Getting the recipes at the end was a nice bonus. A great way to spend an afternoon in Tirana!
