As you continue climbing, you’ll reach Qafe Thore Pass, one of the highest and most scenic points of the journey, offering awe-inspiring panoramic views of deep valleys and dramatic alpine peaks, a truly Instagram-worthy moment!

Upon arrival, you’ll descend into the serene Theth village, nestled within the verdant Theth National Park. Immerse yourself in its tranquil atmosphere, admiring traditional stone houses (kullas) and charming wooden fences as you stroll through its unpaved streets. A highlight of your visit will be a scenic hike to the renowned Blue Eye (Syri i Kalter). This natural spring boasts crystal-clear blue waters, framed by wild nature and towering cliffs. Your Journey to Theth Unveiled

6:15 AM – Departure from Tirana

Meet your guide and begin a scenic drive through the breathtaking northern Albanian countryside. Expect a day filled with natural wonders and authentic cultural experiences.

 

7:45 – 8:15 AM – Coffee Stop in Shkodra

Our first stop is a relaxing coffee break in the historic city of Shkodra. Sip your drink while taking in beautiful views where the Buna River flows from the vast Lake Shkodra, a peaceful start before heading into the mountains.

 

9:00 – 9:15 AM – Qafe Thore Pass (Photo Stop)

We continue climbing into the mountains until we reach Qafe Thore Pass, one of the highest and most scenic points of the journey. Marvel at the panoramic views of deep valleys and dramatic alpine peaks, a perfect spot for memorable photos!

 

10:00 AM – Arrival in Theth Village

We descend into the magical village of Theth, hidden in a lush valley inside Theth National Park. You’ll be charmed by its peaceful atmosphere, traditional stone houses (kullas), and rustic wooden fences. Take a stroll through its unpaved streets and breathe in the crisp mountain air.

 

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Hike to the Blue Eye of Theth

After settling in, we begin a scenic hike to the famous Blue Eye (Syri i Kalter). This natural spring features crystal-clear blue waters, surrounded by wild nature and towering cliffs. The hike (approx. 1.5–2 hours round trip) offers stunning views and ends with a jaw-dropping natural wonder, a must-see highlight of the Albanian Alps.

 

12:30 – 1:30 PM – Free Time to Relax

Enjoy free time to rest, grab a light snack, or simply relax and take in the serene atmosphere of Theth. Perfect for unwinding after the hike.

 

1:45 – 3:00 PM – Explore Theth National Park

Continue your exploration with a visit around Theth National Park, where nature, heritage and highland architecture merge beautifully. You may also have the chance to see iconic landmarks like the Lock-In Tower (Kulla e Ngujimit) and the picturesque stone church of Theth.

 

3:00 PM – Departure for Tirana

After a day full of discoveries, we begin our return drive to Tirana, carrying unforgettable memories of this pristine corner of Albania.

 

6:30 PM – Arrival in Tirana

How difficult is the hike to Blue Eye?

The hike to the Blue Eye is generally considered moderate, taking around two hours round-trip with some uneven terrain.

Is the road to Theth challenging?

The road to Theth has been significantly improved in recent years but still involves mountain driving with curves. Our experienced drivers ensure a safe journey.

Can we swim at the waterfall or the Blue Eye?

The water at both locations is very cold, even in summer! Some brave souls do take a quick dip, but it's more for admiring the beauty. Swimming is at your own risk.

Is this tour suitable for children?

Due to the long day, travel times, and moderate hiking, this tour is generally better suited for older children (e.g., 10+) who are accustomed to walking and longer journeys.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, this tour is not suitable for wheelchair users, as the transportation vehicle is not equipped for wheelchair access.
